WEDDINGS Q&A VENDORS
Consider this
when planning what most people consider the most
important day of your life.
Grab your coffee and take a moment to learn some really cool stuff
about what you can expect from a leader. Enjoy.
The
Wedding Ceremony
"It's not just the music"
When we are hired to provide ceremony music our staff also acts as
the ceremony coordinator. During guest arrival we make ourselves available
to answer questions from guests. We direct people to their seats when
required. We give the bridal party their cues and make sure everything
is on schedule. All of which is discussed with you prior to the big
day.
Event
Coordinator:
"What DJs should expect to do"
Our staff is ready to completely run your event based on your specifications.
Once we've discussed your event with you we follow the schedule and
work with the other vendors you have hired. Our job is to be the "clock" during
your event. It is our responsibility to see to it that all formalities,
announcements, and coordination is taken care of.
Emcee
or Master of Ceremonies
"Who does this? Who doesn't?"
Let's be perfectly clear. Our DJs make all
the announcements unless you've designated someone
to do that for your event. We provide a wireless
microphone for toasts, blessing, and any other
announcements you need. There are several DJs who
do not perform as emcee. The good news is that
all of our DJs perform as emcee without missing
a beat. It's not as easy as it looks.

Emergencies:
"What DJ companies avoid talking about"
When we arrive at your event to set up we are coming with the equipment
we intend to use and the equipment we hope we don't have to use. You
heard right. Our philosophy is simple. "If you don't have a spare
tire, you will get a flat." Our DJs carry back up equipment and
always arrive in enough time to ensure that the set up and arrangements
are ready to go. To have back up equipment is costly. Since most DJs
don't carry back up, it's a touchy subject that is often avoided. At
Crow, we have invested time, money, and energy in making sure that
our back up equipment is ready at all times and performs the same as
our regular equipment.

Music:
"Let's dance"
When a DJ spends most of their time talking
about how much music they have, they generally don't
have much else to offer. Like a mechanic, you expect
your DJ to have the tools he or she needs to perform.
With that said, please know that we never promise
to have everything. However, what you can bank on
is that we will have what you want for your event.
Our library contains music from the 1920's to present
day. If we do have to get a special song for you
just know that when we do, it will be done legally
and ethically.

Illegal
Downloads and MP3's :
"The digital revolution"
When your DJ downloads illegal music files
and then gets paid to play them he or she is acting
unethically. The days of peer to peer music sharing
and illegal downloads has long since come to an
end in the neutral zone. This means, it's no longer
excusable by law. Your DJ, if downloading illegally,
is at risk of not showing up to your event due
to an arrest. The R.I.A.A. is cracking down on
public venues, DJs, and independently owned radio
stations across the planet. If you think for a
moment that mobile DJs are protected, think again.
When you hire us please consider that we pay for
our music and videos as we subscribe to different
music sources. Ask for details. If you're investing
in our services, shouldn't we invest in ourselves?
The Wedding Killer
"Our Favorite"
The American Disc Jockey Association
reported that iPods are a wedding killer. To understand
this you must first understand that music files
from peer to peer networks are often badly compressed
MP3 files. (anything under 192kbps) When these
same files are played over a set of loud speakers
the sound is very bad. When you meet with us please
ask us to demonstrate the difference. On top of
that, iPods don't motivate people or make announcements.
iPods and MP3 players are great in the gym and
other places. They are bad at events.

Insurance:
"Why this should matter to you"
Anyone can be a service provider. Anyone can be a DJ. The list goes
on. Since the titles are easy to have, what exactly goes behind them?
An ethical DJ company will have an insurance policy that covers at
least $1,000,000.00. At Crow, our policy is $2,000,000.00 in coverage
for liability. We renew it every year. If you hire a DJ and he or she
is not insured, you could be setting yourself up for a nice liability
suit if something goes wrong at your event. There's not much more to
this. It's just a subject that is overlooked on a regular basis in
this industry. It should matter to you.
Bottom
Line
"Skipping to the end"
We perform at more than 200 weddings per season. Every event is carefully
planned and executed. Make no mistake about it. We will do a great
job and we will have fun doing it. It
will be a great investment in your reputation as someone who knows
what they're doing when hiring a DJ. You get one chance to do it right.
We know that before we even show up. You will like our style, approach,
and ability to put your event where it needs to be.
